- Quickie-Jett AMA 426 Class Q-500 .40 Pylon Racing Engine -

The rules specified .40 size engine for AMA national class 426 Q-500 pylon racing. Smooth, durable, precise and powerful! Engine provided with 426 class specific muffler, intake venturi (no carb), Q-500 style remote needle valve and spinner nut.
Note: Backplate is NOT included. Permits use of your existing Jett compatible Q-500 backplate mount, or add on optional Jett Q-500 firewall conforming backplate mount as shown in photo (see below)

Prop selection for racing is ultimately up to the racing pilot. Target a prop that will permit a ground peak rpm above 18,500 rpm. Typical props include the APC D series Q-500 props such as 8.8 x 8.75, 8.8 x 9. This engine uses "Nelson" type glow plugs, and we recommend the Merlin "hot" 1125A

Updated design produces amazing torque and the RPM you expect and need from a quality racing engine. The Quickie-Jett 2 features our machined bar stock version 428 legal Q500 muffler, venturi intake (no air valve), spinner nut and Q-500 type remote needle valve assembly. Integral spinner pictured and square conformal backplate engine mount can be selected as optional accessory.
